Eventually, both the cat and the cat’s owner chased Xiao Nian out of the apartment.
However, he still had to provide an explanation for the cat’s actions.
“Some cats just like to play with cell phones.” Xiao Nian said.
As soon as he finished speaking, Pei Zhen jumped onto the sofa and started typing away at the phone. He hit the remote control with his paw and switched on the television.
“… Some cats also like watching television.” Xiao Nian continued.
Pei Zhen flicked through a few channels before stopping on a TV series that he had starred in.
“… This was the cat that Pei Zhen saved, after all. So the fact that he likes Pei Zhen isn’t really surprising… Hahaha,” Xiao Nian said in a half-joking manner.
With an awkward smile on his face, Fu Sichen decided that he had heard quite enough. He shut the door with a loud bang.
Fu Sichen turned around to look at the Persian cat sitting on the sofa. He unconsciously frowned. Maybe cats that were purchased were smarter than the average cat?
In the TV series, Pei Zhen played a policeman.
The man in uniform was just too handsome for words. You couldn’t even see the slightest bit of femininity from Pei Zhen’s exquisite eyebrows and translucent skin. “We need to believe in science. Believing in superstitions only serves to perpetuate myths. We need to explore the world around us through an objective perspective.”
With the ability to compete on an equal playing field with Fu Sichen for awards like Best Actor, Pei Zhen’s acting skills were unquestionably on a high level.
The policeman on the TV show was upright and righteous; the deep conviction that he had for his beliefs was so palpable that you could sense them just from the look in his eyes. Fu Sichen couldn’t help but take another look at the Persian cat who was lounging on the couch watching TV. He tried to force himself to suppress the feeling that something wasn’t quite right.
Maybe this cat just had a lot of human-like characteristics.
Fu Sichen stayed at home and cleaned up his apartment in the morning. In the afternoon, he headed off towards the hospital again.
Of course, as the victim of this whole fiasco, Pei Zhen the cat definitely wanted to follow along.
Fu Sichen looked at Pei Zhen the human with an expression so tender that it gave Pei Zhen the cat goosebumps.
Why is he looking at me like that?!
He’s still looking at me!
Pei Zhen was beginning to suspect that Fu Sichen had a fetish for dead bodies. He was just one step away from kissing Pei Zhen’s unconscious body. Granted, his body was still breathing and hadn’t become a corpse just yet.
“Why don’t you wake up?” Pei Zhen was sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed. Fu Sichen took a long look at his body, “Didn’t you say that you were going to teach me a lesson? Weren’t you going to make me call you Daddy?”
After provoking him, why did he still end up in a coma?
“If you don’t wake up soon, Uncle and Aunt will end up finding out about all of this.” Fu Sichen had always been a man of few words. He only became a little more verbose after seeing Pei Zhen lying there unconscious. “Do you remember that sponsorship deal you had with the live broadcast station? Yeah… I was the one who got it taken away.”
“What!!!” Pei Zhen the cat finally reacted.
“The station had so many viewers; why would they want to sponsor someone like you?”
“If it wasn’t for the fact that I wanted to spite you, I wouldn’t have taken the job when they offered it to me.”
“Pei Zhen, don’t you want to teach me a lesson even more now? Come on and wake up— otherwise, you won’t be able to get back at me.”
These words were obviously trying to provoke a fight. Normally, this would have caused the arrogant Pei Zhen to jump up and down in anger. But for now, all Pei Zhen could do was lie there in silence. Although, he did end up getting a reaction from his cat.
The Persian cat with Pei Zhen’s soul jumped onto the hospital bed with every intention of teaching Fu Sichen a lesson. But, for some reason, when he looked into Fu Sichen’s teary red eyes, he was suddenly at a loss.
What was going on?
Why was the person who stole the sponsorship feeling sad instead?!
Pei Zhen felt completely baffled by Fu Sichen’s actions. Pei Zhen the cat was so shocked that he fell on top of Pei Zhen the human.
Fu Sichen, he… he was crying!
“There’s something in my eye.” Fu Sichen got up and headed towards the bathroom, as if it was embarrassing to be seen crying by anyone— even if that someone only happened to be a cat. “I’m going to go and wash my face.”
Pei Zhen the cat kept silent.
The cat couldn’t for his life figure out why Fu Sichen was crying. He really wanted to find Xiao Nian to ask him what was going on. Was Fu Sichen feeling guilty over stealing his sponsorship? Was that why he was crying?
