In the rest area, the young man in military uniform stood at the door with a sneer. He knew that no matter how powerful Gu Nan was, he’d have no choice but to concede defeat.

No one would dare to fight the military head-on.

Zhou Xuewen helped Lei Wuji up with an angry face.

On the other hand, Lu Danze was still on his knees, unable to get up. He could only shout, “Mr. Zhou, you must get justice for me!”

Zhou Xuewen nodded solemnly. “Rest assured. The Martial Arts Competition is such a serious matter. How can we allow him to act as he pleases?”

Lu Danze’s expression looked slightly better. Gu Nan’s merciless act of breaking both his legs made him hate Gu Nan completely.

‘Hmph! You’ve offended Hall Master Zhou this time. Let’s see how you handle this!’

Gu Nan’s calm gaze scanned the crowd, his face still expressionless.

From beginning to end, he never paid attention to these people. It’s like how there’ll always be monsters jumping out to stop you when you do a mission—that’s nothing special. If monsters jump out, just kill them.

So he clasped his right hand gently, and a shadow sword was already gripped in his hand.

The military youth’s face turned cold when he saw that Gu Nan really planned to fight. With a wave of his right hand, over a dozen machine guns were aimed at Gu Nan.

They were originally from the military and had nothing to do with the police—they were merely using the murdered family as an excuse to cause Gu Nan trouble.

“Major General Huang, please wait a minute!” Just as the two sides had their swords drawn, another voice called out, and a group of people reached the door.

This time, the newcomer was Gu Tianleng, one of the Gu family’s elders. He was the younger brother of Gu Nian’s grandfather.

Gu Mingyuan, Second Uncle Gu Tianqi, and the other Gu family members were focused on colonizing the newly-discovered plane, so the affairs of Star Realm were handed over to Gu Tianleng.

This elder was famous for his diplomacy ever since he was young. He was the best at dealing with diplomatic relations between all parties.

Sure enough, he gave the young man in military uniform a high hat with a respectful address as soon as he appeared, then said with an apologetic smile, “Our family’s Gu Nan is full of youthful vigor. Major General Huang, please don’t take it to heart. Let this old man talk to him first.”

Major General Huang disdainfully flattened his mouth and waved again to order everyone to put the guns away, silently agreeing to Gu Tianleng’s suggestion.

Over there, Zhou Xuewen snorted coldly. “There’s someone who wants to control the Martial Arts Competition. What’s there to explain?”

Zhou Xuewen’s status in the martial arts community was too high. Gu Tianleng quickly vowed, “Brother Zhou, please rest assured. After today, we won’t let Gu Nan interfere in the Martial Arts Competition anymore!”

Seeing his sincere attitude, Zhou Xuewen gave a cold snort and didn’t make a sound again as he continued to observe how Gu Tianleng would handle this.

After Gu Tianleng had calmed both sides after much difficulty, he finally looked at Gu Nan, but Gu Nan hadn’t even moved from his original position and was still holding a sword.

“Gu Nan! What are you still staring at?” Gu Tianleng’s expression was dark as he berated, “The Martial Arts Competition is a distinguished event for all the martial artists on this planet. It’s not something that can be changed by your whims! Return home and reflect upon your actions!”

Gu Nan didn’t reply; there weren’t any fluctuations in his gaze. When his eyes saw Gu Xingzhu standing behind Gu Tianleng, a faint smile appeared on his face.

The Gu family came so quickly. As expected, someone tipped them off…

It seemed that Gu Nian hadn’t told these people about his real strength. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so stupid.

And the Gu family’s elders clearly didn’t understand what Gu Nan meant to them. They truly believed that he was just a guest hired by their family.

But this was entirely meaningless. Since when has Gu Nan ever cared about their lives?

“Since everyone is here, I’ll notify everyone at once,” Gu Nan started speaking as his eyes scanned the crowd, letting the shadow sword press against the ground.

“I’ll only say it once.” His voice was calm and cold. “How this Martial Arts Competition is run, as well as its time and location—is entirely up to me. Those who object can die.”

After his voice fell, the entire rest area fell silent. Everyone was shocked by Gu Nan’s ravings.

Gu Tianleng was the first to react. The veins on his forehead became visible as he roared, “What crazy things are you saying? You…”

Before he finished, a cold wind quickly reached him. The glint of a sword flashed past, too fast for the naked eye to see. Gu Tianleng’s entire person froze, as though someone had hit the pause button on a video tape; the scene looked very comical.

“Uncle…” Behind him, Gu Xingzhu looked up in bewilderment and realized that there was a thin bloody line on Gu Tianleng’s neck.

In the next moment, his head slipped off along the slanted line.

Gu Nan had killed him in a single strike!

“Gu Nan! W-What are you doing?” Gu Xingzhu’s hands trembled. She didn’t expect that Gu Nan would actually attack someone from the Gu family, and a fatal attack at that!

Gu Nan didn’t pay attention to her at all. His icy gaze shifted to Major General Huang.

Major General Huang suddenly felt cold and had an ominous feeling in his heart, but he still tried to calm himself down.

‘He won’t dare to attack me, or else he’ll be making an enemy out of Star Realm’s entire government. That’s simply looking for death!’

Major General Huang gritted his teeth and was still debating whether to say something. On the other side, Hall Master Zhou Xuewen was already furious and rushed towards Gu Nan.

“Openly killing and defying the law! Do you know what you’re doing?!” Zhou Xuewen glared at Gu Nan angrily. “Gu Tianleng was not only saving the Gu family, but also saving you!”

“Turn yourself in to the military immediately, or else the century-old Gu family will be destroyed by you!” When Zhou Xuewen saw Gu Nan standing still, he said coldly, “What? Do you still want to fight me?”

Gu Nan, who had been expressionless until now, almost laughed when he heard that last sentence.

Watching a humanoid monster jump up and down, and even say these strange words full of determination, was a little funny.

But laughter didn’t affect Gu Nan’s movements. The shadow sword in his hand slowly disappeared, but his palm was as fast as lightning as he directly slapped Zhou Xuewen’s face.

This honest slap to the face made Hall Master Zhou stumble, almost falling to the ground.

His old face was stunned and immediately turned red. He was in disbelief, both at Gu Nan’s incredibly fast movements and the fact that he even dared to attack.

‘This brat! Does he know who I am?!’

For a young martial artist like Gu Nan, a single sentence from Zhou Xuewen would be enough to ensure that no one on Ruby Fish Star would ever help him again!

Gu Xingzhu, who was beside them, was already speechless. Her mind was filled with thoughts of, “It’s over.”

If she had known that Gu Nan had this kind of temperament, she would never have brought the Gu family here!

After today, the Gu family would either have to sever all ties with Gu Nan or make an enemy out of all of Ruby Fish Star.

Hall Master Zhou was so infuriated that his hands trembled as he pointed at Gu Nan. “You…”

Slap!

Gu Nan gave another slap, which Hall Master Zhou also failed to dodge. This time he couldn’t speak anymore.

After years of living like a prince, he had long since regarded martial arts as a way to keep fit. In contrast, he had forgotten how to fight in battles of life and death.

But Gu Nan wouldn’t be polite to him. A grim smile appeared on his face.

This old man’s strength actually wasn’t bad. He was much better than Gu Tianleng. At the very least, he was already in the Infinitesimal Stage. It’s just that his vigor had declined a little due to age.

So Gu Nan gave up on using the shadow sword and decided to greet the other party with the punches that he was most adept at.
