In the distant future, long after the world had been ravaged by an apocalypse, Earth was a shadow of its former self. The once-great advancements and technologies were lost to time, forgotten in the wake of the arrival of the Specters - terrifying beings with unimaginable powers that brought destruction wherever they went. Despite humanity's attempts to rebuild, their efforts were always met with failure as they were constantly wiped out by the Specters. As a result, the memories of the past were lost, and the achievements of humanity were nothing but distant legends. In this new world ruled by the Specters, a young boy with no recollection of his past woke up in the desolate Dregs - the most dangerous part of Crimson Fungus City. As he grew older, he trained and honed his skills, eventually becoming strong enough to pass the rigorous exam for one of the most prestigious jobs in existence - a Zephyx Extractor. These skilled individuals were able to harness the powers of the Specters, making them highly sought after. However, the boy's hopes were dashed when it was revealed that he had already gained a power from a Specter in the past, rendering him ineligible for the position. Just when all seemed lost, a mysterious man appeared before him, offering a glimmer of hope and changing his luck for the better.
