Eight centuries in the past, Xie Lian held the esteemed title of Crown Prince in the prosperous kingdom of Xian Le. Adored by his people and hailed as a symbol of perfection, he was truly the beloved jewel of the world. However, fate dealt him a cruel hand and he was forced to leave the Heavens at a young age, returning to the mortal realm. Despite this setback, he never lost hope and eventually ascended once again, only to be banished yet again mere minutes after his return. Now, after eight hundred years have passed, Xie Lian makes his third ascent to the Heavens, but this time as a figure of mockery among all three realms. As he embarks on his first task as a thrice-ascended god, he encounters a mysterious demon who holds dominion over the spirits and strikes fear into the hearts of even the most powerful beings in the Heavens. Little does Xie Lian know, this demon king has been keeping a watchful eye on him for a very, very long time.
