After a five-year absence, Ning Xi has returned with a burning desire for revenge against her sister who turned their parents against her and her childhood sweetheart who betrayed her for her sister's sake. Her ultimate goal is to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a renowned actress. However, her sister is still determined to sabotage her every move, forcing Ning Xi to constantly dodge her sneaky schemes. One fateful day, while trying to outsmart her sister's latest plot, Ning Xi crosses paths with an adorable little boy whom she ends up saving. The boy's father is grateful for her heroic act and offers to repay her in any way possible. To Ning Xi's surprise, he boldly proposes, "Marry me." With the little boy's sad puppy dog eyes tugging at her heartstrings, Ning Xi agrees to stay at their house to help him overcome his shyness.
